Woman found guilty of stealing nuggets

A McDonald’s employee was found guilty of embezzling chicken nuggets and fish filets during Batesville Municipal Court held Wednesday by Judge Bill McKenzie.
Cynthia Miles, 1046 Carlisle, Courtland, told the judge she didn’t know why so many of her former co-workers testified against her during the lengthy city court trial.
Jerico Brassel testified that he was cleaning up after his shift and found an unopened box of frozen chicken nuggets and fish.
“She (Miles) told me it was old product and to throw it in the corral,” he said.
Other employees testified that Miles had told them to discard boxes of frozen products.
The store manager, Rosa Johnson, had filed the charge of embezzlement against Miles after she noticed that the store’s inventory was short.
She said she received a call from the manager of the Sardis McDonald’s who had information on a Batesville employee stealing products and trying to sell them to individuals on the street.
Court documents indicated that the boxes of frozen food were worth about $70 each.
Miles testified she didn’t know “where them boxes came from.”
“I am the victim,” she said.
The judge asked, “So all these witnesses are just lying? Why would they lie?”
Miles was fined $313.
