Snow in March?
On March 21-22, 1968 a snowstorm blew into North Mississippi with accumulations up to umpteen inches according to those who survived to exaggerate the story. Question is: Do you think we will experience snowfall with accumulation this March?

Woodard’s family celebrates his birthday

The grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren celebrated James Woodard’s 104th birthday on Thanksgiving Day at his home in the Mt. Olivet community.

He was born December 1, 1907. He was a farmer  before retiring.

He is a member of New Providence M.B. Church.

When asked how it felt to be 104 years old he said, “Look to the Man above and trust Him and everything will be all right.”

Mrs. Fullerton turns 100

Allie Irene Fullerton of Sardis celebrated her 100th birthday on December 8. She has been a resident of the Sardis Nursing Home for two years.

Her children are Randy Fullerton of Sardis, Nancy Stafford of Lake Cormorant and Jerry Fullerton of Senatobia.

Mrs. Fullerson had received 140 birthday cards at last count.

She remembers turning 30 the day after the Pearl Harbor attacks.
