The back seat passenger in a Thursday afternoon auto accident on Highway 6 West was pronounced dead at the scene, Panola County Coroner Gracie Grant-Gulledge said.

Barbara Criswell Dover, 76, of Marks was killed. She was a passenger in a car driven by her daughter, Mary Willard, that was involved in the accident with a pickup. Willard's husband, Jerry Willard, was also also a passenger. Both Willards were transported to the Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford for treatment, the coroner said.

The female driver of the other vehicle, a pickup, was transported to Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville for treatment.

A spokesman for the Batesville Police Department said late Thursday that officers were still investigating the accident.

Kimbro Funeral Home of Marks is in charge of arrangements, Grant-Gulledge said.

This was a devastating week for all of the family of Mrs.Dover.No body in the world can express the DEEP SORROW our family has received from the result of careless judgment of others. Though our family is not hateful the tears we have cried have not yet healed our hearts. We are not passing judgment for what has happened, yet trying to find a way to heal a broken link to life lost in tragedy. WE LOVE YOU MA-MAW!R.I.P

To Wondering: It's not the same one. The accident at 6 and 51 was last week, but involved our grandmother, who was lost in this particular accident on 6 by the car dealership. Thank you for your kind words.

this was my Grandmother and aunt and uncle involved in this wreck. my grandmother was a wonderful person and she will be missed. she was taken away from us too soon. the person that wrecked them should be punished. my grandmother was the person that kept our family together.
