Arez Robinson, 5, of Courtland (left) and Shondrecus Sanford, 9, of Pope were the winners in The Panolian’s Christmas coloring contest. Arez, a student at the Batesville Head Start Center, won first place in the division for children ages 2-5. Shondrecus, who attends Pope School, claimed the blue ribbon for students ages 6-10. There were 150 entries.

Coordinating the contest were Panolian staff members Terri Howard (left) and Cassie White (right). Entries are currently displayed in the newspaper’s front window. The pictures can be picked up after Jan. 2.
