Downs-Tubbs
Mr. and Mrs. Billy Sims Downs of Batesville announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Lauren Downs, to Joseph Neal Tubbs, son of William and Peggy Tubbs of Tupelo.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late William Arthur and Jessie Beckham Downs of Batesville and Arvilla V. Shaffar of Mt. Holly, N.J. and the late Delbert M. Shaffer of Moria, N.Y.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Ray and Ruby Bumgardner of Oxford and Ruby Tubbs of Etta and the late Farrest Tubbs of Etta.
The bride-elect graduated from North Delta School in 2003. She is a graduate of Northwest Mississippi Community College where she studied nursing.
She is employed by Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi as a registered nurse.
The prospective groom graduated from Lafayette High School in 2003. He is a graduate of Northeast Mississippi Community College where he studied nursing.
He is employed by Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi as a registered nurse.
The wedding is to take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 31 at First Baptist Church- Lee Chapel.
A reception will follow at the Panola Country Club.
Family and friends are invited.
Moore-Chapuis
Miss Jamie Lee Chapuis of Senatobia and J.P. Moore of Batesville were united in marriage on October 10 at Moore Manor, the home of his parents in Panola County.
The Rev. Larry Moore of Hernando performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Wallace Chapuis Jr. of Senatobia and Carolyn Lynn Chapuis of Horn Lake.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Chapuis Sr. of Senatobia and the late Robert Charles Odom Sr. of Jackson and the late Julia J. Carr of Jackson.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Warren “Bobby” Moore of Batesville.
He is the grandson of Mrs. Ben J. Moore and the late Dr. Moore of Batesville and the late Mr. and Mrs. David Lee Cline of Batesville.
Whitney Lentz of Senatobia served the bride as maid of honor.
She was also attended by Danielle Chapuis of Senatobia, Amber Moore of Courtland, Ginnie Moore of Franklin, Tenn., Julie Moore of Batesville and Jordan Odom of Jackson.
Maggie Lentz, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Casey Lentz of Senatobia, was the flower girl.
The bride wore a formal length satin A-line dress of white with a champagne overskirt featuring a split skirt and waist-defining cummerbund. Her dress was embellished with Alencon lace, beads and seed pearls around the bodice and lower front skirt and down the chapel length train.
She carried a bouquet of yellow roses.
Her attendants wore formal length dresses in alternating colors of clover and sangria and carried rose bouquets alternating in dark pink and light green.
Bobby Moore, the father of the groom of Batesville, served the groom as best man.
Steven Carter of Byhalia, Robert Moore II, brother of the groom of Spring Branch, Texas, Jud Moore of Courtland, James Phillips of Maben and Brock Williams of Sara served as groomsmen.
Honorary groomsman was Sgt. Benjamin Lee Moore who is serving in Iraq.
Wesley Moore, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jud Moore of Courtland, was the ring bearer.
A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the groom’s parents.
Following the ceremony the couple make their home in Newport News, Va.
