Memphian killed in wreck on Interstate 55

By Billy Davis

A two-vehicle accident on Interstate 55 in Panola County last week killed a Memphian.

Brendt Coker, 36, was killed when a second automobile crossed the median and struck his Dodge Charger, a Miss. Highway Patrol spokesman said.

Authorities identified the second driver as Martha H. Hoaglin, also of Memphis.

Coker was traveling southbound. Hoaglin was traveling north.

The collision occurred on November 19 near the Pope-Courtland exit, said MHP spokesman Sgt. Leslie White.

Coker is survived by his wife, a son, 5, and a daughter, 3.

Do you have anymore information on this accident? I'm related to Martha through marriage. She died last night. I was wondering if her death was a direct result of the accident. No one that I've talk to seems to know. My heartfelt condolences go out to Brendt Coker's family. It's so sad. Thank you!
