Moore - Holland
Terry and Teresa Moore of Batesville announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Madeline Moore, to Bo Randall Holland, son of Doyce and Kay Holland of Starkville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Willie Mae Moore and the late James A. Moore of Oakland and Floyd and Minnie Sanders of Courtland.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Earl and Willie Dee Gharst of Jackson and the late Odea and Ann Holland of Hamilton, Ala.
The bride-elect graduated from North Delta in 2004.
She is a graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson where she studied nursing.
She is employed by Fresenius Medical Care in Clarksdale as a registered nurse.
The prospective groom graduated from Starkville Academy.
He is a graduate of the Mississippi State University where he studied civil engineering.
He is employed by Scientific Drilling Inc. in Houston, Texas with a position in business development.
The wedding is to take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 5 at First Baptist Church in Batesville.
A reception will follow at 211 Main, in Como.
Coleman-Pollard
Arthur L. Pollard and Delorse B. Coleman will be married on Saturday, November 21 at Second Baptist Church Family Life Center in Coldwater.
Family and friends are invited. A reception will follow.
Ball-Shaffer plans finalized
Sarah Dale Ball and James Keith Shaffer have finalized their wedding plans.
The couple will be married Saturday, November 21 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Batesville. Dr. Robert Self will be the presiding minister.
A reception for the couple will be held at Arena One, the cutting horse association’s building located on Cutting Horse Lane which is west of Batesville on Chapeltown Road.
All family and friends are invited to both the ceremony and the reception.
The Tohills celebrate their golden anniversary
Former Panola Countians Brownie and Irene Tohill of New Albany observed their 50th wedding anniversary on October 30.
Now a United Methodist pastor, the Rev. Tohill was the principal and coach at Pope School in the 1960s and served as headmaster at West Panola School (now North Delta) in the ‘70s. He graduated from Batesville High School.
Mrs. Tohill taught school at Batesville Elementary, Pope and West Panola.
“The first time I saw her was at the First Baptist Church in New Albany,” he said. “I saw her in the choir.Love at first sight.”
On Sunday, October 18 they were honored by the congregations of their three churches on the Hickory Flat United Methodist Charge: Hickory Flat UMC, Bethel UMC and Winborn UMC. On November 28, they will have a celebration with their children, Ann Tohill Smith of Savannah, Ga. and Charlie Tohill of New Albany and their families.
