BPD reports: stolen case of beer, mystery shoe print

Officers with the Batesville Police Department hope a shoe print found on a damaged vehicle will lead them to a suspect.

According to an officer’s statement from Scott Cagle, he was called to the Factory Stores at Batesville Saturday afternoon for a report of a damaged vehicle.

The owner of the vehicle, unnamed in the report, was informed by a supposed witness that a heavy set white male with reddish blond hair had kicked the side of the car.

Pictures were taken of the damage and placed into the case file.

No arrest has been made and the case remains under investigation.

Also on Friday, officer Richard Stonestreet responded to a shoplifting at Kangaroo Express located at 1185 Highway 6 East where a case and a half of Natural Light was taken from the store.

The merchandise has been returned and Taylor A. Edwards, of Memphis, has been arrested and charged with shoplifting.

•Officers took a report of a damaged golf cart at the Panola Country Club on Sarturday. Total damage is estimated at $400.

No arrests have been made.

•Derrick Deshun Chandler turned himself into the BPD for a contempt of court warrant.
