Bloxsom-Harrison

Andy and Judy Bloxsom of Grenada announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Michelle Bloxsom to Larry William Harrison II, son of Larry and Virginia Harrison of Batesville.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Grenada High School and is currently attending Itawamba Community College in Fulton where she will graduate in May 2010 with an associate in radiologic technology.

The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of South Panola High School. He graduated in 2007 from Northwest Community College with an associate’s degree in applied science in tool and die technology. In 2008 he graduated from the Community College of the Air Force with an associate’s degree in applied science in metals technology. He is currently employed with Smith and Nephew in Memphis.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Clyde and Daisy McWhorter of Grenada and the late Henry and Bess Bloxsom of Grenada.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late George and Helen Underwood of Batesville and Clayton and Lilly Johnson of Batesville.

The wedding will take place at 5 p.m. on December 12 at Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada. Dr. Robert Self will perform the ceremony.

A reception will follow the ceremony in the Family Life Center. All friends and family are invited.

Brown-Mills

Jennifer Brown of Batesville and Richard Mills of Batesville were united in marriage on November 1 at McIvor Baptist Church.

The Rev. Gary Stevens performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Ricky and Joyce Brown of Sardis.

She is the granddaughter of Murtle Brown of Batesville.

The groom is the son of David Mills of Batesville.

He is the grandson of Alfred Mills of Batesville.

The bridesmaids were Lena Frannin of Sardis and and Heather Pritchard of Batesville.

Serenity Pritchard, the daughter of Heather Pritchard, was the flower girl.

Mark Mills of Batesville served the groom as groomsman.

Randy Tinner Jr., the son of Randy and Mary Tinner of Batesville, was the ring bearer.

Smith-Henson

Candace Jordan Smith of Gadsden, Ala. and Steven Allen Henson of Batesville were united in marriage on September 12 at Crosspoint Community Church in Gadsden, Ala.

Pastor Richard Harper performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Rhandy and Julie Smith of Gadsden.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Randall Smith Sr. of Gadsden, Ala. and Mr. and Mrs. Stelk Wolfe of Gadsden.

The groom is the son of Dennis and Carole Land of Batesville.

He is the grandson of the late Leland and Elizabeth Davis of Batesville and the late Leslie and Dorothy Land of Batesville.

Kristin Taylor Tanskley of Hartselle, Ala. served the bride as maid of honor.

She was also attended by Mary Alice Clayton of Woodstock, Ga., Jodie Melinda Ferguson of Birmingham, Ala. and Kimberly Beard Land of Batesville.

Sara Lane Smith, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brad Smith of Birmingham, Ala., was the flower girl.

Dennis Marshall Land of Batesville served the groom as best man.

Justin Marshall Land of Batesville, Gary Randall Smith III and Jay Michael Walters Jr., both of Birmingham, Ala. served as groomsmen.

Caden Marshall Land, the son of Justin and Kimberly Land, and Hoke Jackson Smith II, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brad Smith of Birmingham, were the ring bearers.

A reception followed the ceremony at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Homer Spencer in Gadsden.
Following the ceremony the couple make their home in Nashville.

Waldrup-Johnston

Christine Ann Waldrup of Batesville and Jerry Patrick Johnston Jr. of Sardis were united in marriage on October 17 in Hot Springs, Ark.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Waldrup. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene W. Parrott of Florence, S.C., and James Ed Waldrup and the late Mrs. Eleanor Raye Waldrup of Batesville. The groom is the son of Mrs. Billie Johnston and the late Jerry Johnston Sr. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Exo Johnston and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bankston both of Waynesboro.

The couple will reside in Sardis.
