Floyd ‘Sonny’ Barr Jr.

BATESVILLE––Floyd “Sonny” Barr Jr., 65, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services will be held Tuesday, February 9 at 1 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Pastor Warren G. Henderson will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in New Providence Church Cemetery in Water Valley. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Barr, born Nov. 3, 1950, in Batesville, to the late Rogers William Barr and Nulene Henderson Barr, was a machine operator at Muscle Shoals Rubber Company and a member of New Hope M.B. Church in Batesville.
Survivors include: one daughter, Dee Cauthen Hulette of Senatobia; one sister, Gloria Fondren of Batesville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Benton Crowell

EUREKA––Benton Crowell, 84, died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services were held Thursday at Dickins Funeral Home. Rev. Clay Baker officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Crowell, born May 21, 1931, in Courtland, to the late Julius Freeman Crowell and Sarah Elizabeth Teer Crowell, was retired from Proctor and Gamble and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include: his wife, Ann Hope Crowell of Memphis; one daughter, Kristen Crowell Jones of Memphis; one son, William Benton Crowell of Olive Branch; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Pisgah Cemetery, c/o Barbara Crouch, 4124 Sardis Lake Dr., Batesville, Miss. 38606.

SARDIS––John Lee Dillard, 78, died January 28, 2016, at Senatobia Healthcare and Rehab.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bell Grove M.B. Church in Holly Springs. Visitation will be held today from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Felix Cauthen Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial will be held in Bell Grove M.B. Church Cemetery.
Dillard worked in construction.
Survivors inclue his wife, Christine B. Dillard of Sardis; three daughters, Johnnie B. Benjamin of Hayward, Calif., Rena Wicks of Holly Springs and Roslyn Richmond of Southaven; three sisters, Josephine Byers, Sally Davis and Susie Davis, all of Holly Springs; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Clara Bell Chapman Henderson

BATESVILLE––Clara Bell Chapman Henderson, 85, died Monday, February 1, 2016, at Golden Living Center.
Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church. Pastor Melvin Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary and Sunday from noon until service time at the church. Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Henderson, born Jan. 13, 1931, in Batesville, to the late King Settler Chapman and Rosie Todd Chapman, was an assistant manager at West Side Cleaners. She was a member of Pilgrim’s Rest M.B. Church where she was church secretary. She was a member of the Mother Board, former member of the Eastern Star and the Hospital Auxiliary at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Survivors include: her sisters, Bernice Draper of Batesville and Carrie Mitchell of Memphis and three step-sons.

Mack Arthur Jackson

SENATOBIA––Mack Arthur Jackson, 67, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at his residence.
Services will be held Saturday at noon at Senatobia Church of Christ. Visitation will be held today 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Felix Cauthen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home has charge.
Survivors include: his two sisters, Hazel Johnson of Senatobia and Matilda Davis of Como.

James Earl Jones

BATESVILLE––James Earl Jones, 67, died Monday, February 1, 2016, in Marks.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Pastor Jerome Battle will officiate. Visitation will be held today 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Burial will be held in Booker Cemetery in Marks. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Jones, born Aug. 1, 1948, in Marks to M.W. Jones of Marks and the late Irene Delony, was retired from Panola Mills and was a veteran of the United States Army and National Guard.
Survivors along with his father include: his wife, Lillie B. Handy Jones of Batesville; four sons, Michael C. Handy of Batesville, Jermaine Jones of Milwaukee, George Williams of Marks and SkyRandy Braxton of Batesville; one daughter, Tammy Jones of Batesville; five brothers, Ivory Jones and M.W. Jones Jr., both of Milwaukee, William Jones and Calvin Jones, both of Marks and Lefta Jones of Iowa City; six sisters, Mandy Jasey of Baltimore, Leola Cooks, Chequettlin Jones, Sherry A. Jones, all of Marks, Jimmy A. Jones of Milwaukee and Patricia A. Jones of Atlanta; four grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Thomas Earl Mosley

BATESVILLE––Thomas Earl Mosley, 57, died Saturday, January 30, 2016.
Services will be held Saturday at noon at Mt. Austin M.B. Church in Coldwater. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be held in Mt. Austin Church Cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home has charge.
Survivors include: one sister, Dorothy Wooten of St. Louis and three brothers, Stanley Mosley of St. Louis, Robert Mosley and Randy Mosley, both of Hernando.

William Parker Sr.

BATESVILLE––William Parker Sr., 90, died Saturday, January 30, 2016, at his residence.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Second Concord M.B. Church in Batesville. Pastor J.A. Wilson will officiate. Visitation will be held today 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Burial will be held in Second Concord Church Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Parker, born Jan. 22, 1926, in Water Valley, to the late Lott Parker and Malissie Rislee, was a retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation. He was a member of Second Concord M.B. Church where he was a deacon for 57 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Pearl Johnson Parker.
Survivors include: one son, Michael Parker of Batesville; five daughters, Lourine Robinson, Glenda Parker Reed and Linda Johnson, all of Batesville, Rubye Williams of West Helena, Ark. and Brenda Cosby of Canal Winchester, Ohio; one brother, Grady Parker of Memphis; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
