Donald B. Phelps took the Democratic nomination for District Four Panola County Supervisor, defeating incumbent board president Kelly Morris in the runoff election while attorney Charlie Baglan won the Democratic nomination for the Second Judicial District’s Justice Court Judge post.
Both candidates face opposition in the November 3 General Election.

Phelps won with a mandate, garnering almost 60 percent or 864 votes compared to Morris’s 40 percent or 573 votes.

It was a lot closer in the Second District Justice Court Judge race with Baglan managing a win with a slim margin of 50.65 percent or 1718 votes compared to Wilkie’s 49.12 or 1666 votes. There was a 52 vote difference.
