Bobby Johnson
GREENWOOD–– Bobby Johnson, 62, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Greenwood-Leflore Hospital in Greenwood.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Campground Cemetery near Water Valley.
Bobby was born February 14, 1952 in Memphis, to the late Claude and Patsy Louise White Johnson. He worked as a diesel mechanic.
Bobby is survived by his daughter, Virginia Johnson Davis of Pope; son, Bobby Johnson, Jr. of Nesbit; two brothers, Harold Johnson of Dallas, Charles Johnson of Southaven; six grandsons and three great-grandsons.

Frances Larene Moore Musick
BATESVILLE––Frances Larene Moore Musick, 94, died Thursday, March 12, 2015.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Pepper and Rev. Charles Reed will officiate. Dickins Funeral Home has charge.
Musick, born Nov. 11, 1920, to the late Arthur Tribble Land and Hettie Lee Forrest Land, was a member of Terza Methodist Church. She worked in various businesses including Hosiery Mill, Thermos and J. C. Mannis Country Way Store before retirement.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, W. C. Moore, one son, William L. Moore and great-granddaughter Brandi L. Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Walter E. Musick of Batesville: one daughter Patricia Ledbetter Massey of Walnut Ridge, Ark.; three sons W. C. “Sonny” Moore Jr. of Batesville, Tommy L. Moore of Batesville, Larry Dale Moore of Pontotoc; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Terza Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Candice Hope “Candy” Ramage
POPE–– Candice Hope “Candy” Ramage, 40, died Friday, March 13, 2015 in Pope.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Wells Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at noon until service time. Reverend David Koons will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Ramage, born February 7, 1975 in Eupora, to Tommy Lynn and Cassandra Lou Beam Ramage of Pope, graduated salutatorian of her high school class from Strider Academy.

She received a degree in accounting from Mississippi University for Women and an MBA from Mississippi State University.

She loved camping, rock climbing and all outdoor activities.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: sister, Brandie Ramage Ford of Pope; brother, Tommy Ramage of Pope; and grandmother, Tina Beam of Summerville, Ga.

Miles Coffman Mitchell
BATESVILLE–Former alderman Miles Coffman “Jelly” Mitchell, 96, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford.

Funeral services were Sunday, March 15 at First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Born on July 9, 1918 in Whiteville, Tenn. to the late Morgan Pickney Mitchell and Susie Coffman Mitchell, he graduated from high school in Whiteville and then from Lambuth College where he was president of his fraternity, a cheerleader, president of the Student Council, and the Student Body.

Mitchell, who served on the Batesville City Board from 1961-1973, was president of Panola Federal Savings and Loan until his retirement in 1986.

After earning his degree at Lambuth, he was employed with Union Planters Bank in Memphis.
During World War II, he served in the Army in Europe and North Africa.

Following his service, he returned to Union Planters briefly before moving to Batesville in 1946 to become secretary, and later president, of the newly-formed Panola County Federal Savings and Loan Association.

He also owned and operated the Miles Mitchell Insurance Agency. He was an active member of the VFW, the Jaycees and the Rotary Club.

He also served as a board member for the Panola Country Club and was chairman of Batesville’s Bicentennial Celebration.

An active member of the First United Methodist Church in Batesville, he served on the finance committee and helped with restoration of the church buildings.

“Jelly,” as he was affectionately known, was selected Charity Ball King.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Juanita Shinn Mitchell, whom he married in 1942 in the chapel at Fort Benjamin Harrison.

Survivors include his daughters, Vera Mitchell Phillips and husband Flip, and Mona Mitchell Harrison and husband Scott; and his son, Colmon Shinn Mitchell and wife Mary Lou, all of Batesville; eight grandchildren, Halle Mitchell Walker, Miles Russell Mitchell, Cassie Phillips Alston, Richard Phillips, Taylor Phillips Beard, Austin Harrison Nutt, Pittman Harrison, and Monroe Harrison; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Children’s Home in Jackson, or to the First United Methodist Church.
