North Panola shuts out Byhalia, 40-0

North Panola went 2-0 on the young season as they treated Byhalia to a 40-0 blowout Friday night in Byhalia.

On the Cougars' first play from scrimmage in the first quarter, Darius Thomas hit Trai Sanders on a 68-yard halfback pass for the touchdown and 6-0 lead.

On back-to-back possessions, after Byhalia fumbled a punt, Thomas scored on a 31-yard screen pass from Jatavious Farmer and a 33-yard run for the 22-0 lead.

Sanders scored the two-point conversion on the second touchdown and DeAnte Sipp scored the two-point conversion on the third touchdown.

Justin Connor scored two touchdowns in the second quarter on runs of 14 and 12-yards, respectively. The 12-yard touchdown was the final score of the game with 30 seconds left in the first half.

Robert Oliver caught a 36-yard pass for a touchdown in the second quarter which gave the Cougars a 34-0 lead.

The Cougars will host 1-6A Hernando in its home opener Friday at 7 p.m.
