Following rocky start, South Panola downs
White Station 62-27

South Panola defeated Memphis White Station 62-27 for the season opener. The Tigers got off to slow start with the Spartans but led 28-14 at the half.
South Panola finished the game with 443 yards and held the Spartans to 188.
Leading the team were Oluwain Hoskins, 17 carries for 123 yards with two touchdowns; Darrell Henderson, 15 carries, 94 yards, two touchdowns; and Donald Twilley, four carries, 102 yards, one TD.
Getting his first ever high school start as quarterback, Tyler Pogue completed nine of 16 passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns. Demetrius Market had four receptions for 60 yards with two touchdowns. Cole Rotenberry had one reception for 14 yard for a touchdown.
Leading on tackles was Anfernee Benson with eight and one interception. Ephraim Kitchen had seven and Drelan Porter had six. Twilley had an interception. Desmond Lester had one sack and so did Kasey Hank.
South Panola will be on the road Thursday to face West Point at 7 p.m.
