On March 21-22, 1968 a snowstorm blew into North Mississippi with accumulations up to umpteen inches according to those who survived to exaggerate the story. Question is: Do you think we will experience snowfall with accumulation this March?

Visitation for Batesville’s beloved Coach Robert Lightsey will be held Sunday afternoon from 5 to 8 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church.

The funeral service will be Monday morning at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church.

Lightsey died at mid-morning Friday after a 15-month battle with leukemia during which the extended community rallied daily to encourage him as they followed his treatment through social media updates posted by his wife, Carol Anne.

A complete obituary will be published on Tuesday. Dickins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

The family asks that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Batesville, P. O. Box 797, Batesville, MS. 38606 or to the American Diabetes Association, 5583 Murray Road, Suite 200A, Memphis, TN 38119
