Snow in March?
On March 21-22, 1968 a snowstorm blew into North Mississippi with accumulations up to umpteen inches according to those who survived to exaggerate the story. Question is: Do you think we will experience snowfall with accumulation this March?

Panola County has sustained widespread storm damage with trees and power lines down all over, county Emergency Management Agency director Daniel Cole said.

"Two structures are damaged that we know of," Cole stated in a text message about 4:17 a.m. as first responders canvassed the county to assemble preliminary estimates of damage from a strong thunderstorm system that drove a squall line through Batesville about 2:30 a.m.

Tallahatchie Valley Electric Power Association has "all hands on deck," assistant Manager Marlin Williams said. "Here's hoping we can get power restored as quickly as possible," Williams added. Williams said that early reports indicated "quite a few trees down in Pope."

Panolian driver James Martin said that he was unable to reach the Enid Post office with Friday's edition of The Panolian because downed trees blocked the roadway. Those papers will be delivered later in the morning.
