Panola County’s Veteran Service officer Daniel Brown will change his office hours from one-half days on Monday and Friday mornings to all day Tuesday at his location at the Batesville National Guard Armory on Keating Road in Batesville.

Brown was named Veteran’s officer recently following the retirement of James Webb.

A 38-year Army and National Guard veteran retiree, Brown has seen service in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. Although paid for one day per week in the part-time position, Brown accepts phone calls anytime and can be reached at (662) 292-4262 or 563-8437.

While requesting the hour changes, Brown told supervisors that many holidays fall on Monday and some veterans seeking his service are not able to get to his office during the morning only hours. Supervisors approved Brown’s recommendation unanimously during Monday’s meeting in Sardis.
