Snow in March?
On March 21-22, 1968 a snowstorm blew into North Mississippi with accumulations up to umpteen inches according to those who survived to exaggerate the story. Question is: Do you think we will experience snowfall with accumulation this March?

Archie "Rubert Morgan, my owner, bought me from a man in Archibald, La., so that's why he named me Archie. I am a two-year-old Blue Tick male and I have never chased anything but a raccoon. Rubert says I am absolutely straight."
Blaze "My name is Blaze. I live in Courtland. I'm an eight-month-old English Red Tick female. I am owned by a ten-year-old girl, Avery Seay, who loves to hunt. I am being trained by the best."
Boots "My name is Stevenson's Boots. I am a six-year-old Treeing Walker female owned by Rick Stevenson of Enid. In 2009 I was named World Show Treeing Walker Champion. The photo shows me doing what I do best."
Cricket "My name is Stevenson's Crazy Crickett. I am a six-month-old Treeing Walker owned by Rick Stevenson of Enid. My claim to fame is that I am the daughter of World Show Champion Stevenson's Boots."
Dot "My name is Dot. My owner, Scotty Daugherty, says I'm a playful puppy. I'm a female Blue Tick and I'm only five months old. In the picture you see me with my best pal, Bella."
Jim "My name is Jim. I am a four-year-old Black and Tan male. Scotty Daugherty spends a lot of time training me. He says I'm a good show dog. In the picture you can see another member of my family, Patrick, helping me train for a bench show."
Pat "My name is Pat. I'm a four-year-old Blue Tick male owned by Rubert Morgan. I live at Morgan's Timber Ridge Blue Tick Kennel. Rubert bought me from the widow of a hunting buddy. My birthplace is South Carolina. Rubert says I am energetic. I'm not a serious competitive hunter. I am a pleasure hunting hound."
With 1,000 pedigreed coonhounds headed to town for the UKC Winter Classic January 24-25, The Panolian wanted to show off some of our county's own fine dogs. Seven owners submitted photos and bios of their coonhounds, and now we're asking our readers to vote for their favorites. The winners will be crowned Panola County Coon Dog King and Queen.

Cut out and submit the paper ballot here, or vote online at Only one vote per computer per day will be allowed. No photocopies of the paper ballot will be allowed. Voting ends Tuesday, January 21 at 5 p.m. (See poll on bottom left).

Help us select the King and Queen to be featured on the cover of our special Winter Classic section of The Panolian Friday, January 24.
