Speakers line up to roast 'George C.' at fund-raiser

A list of jurists, associates as well former and current coaches have jumped on the wagon to assist in the “roasting” of retired Mississippi Supreme Court Justice and Voice of the South Panola Tigers, George C. Carlson.
The roast is Thursday, February 14 at Batesville’s National Guard Armory.
A fund-raiser for the Panola County Community Foundation and South Panola Athletic Foundation, the roast has been held annually for the past three years.
Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Ann Lamar will lead the featured group of roasters who also include retired Circuit Judge Andy Baker, former Panola County Circuit Clerk Joe Reid, legendary high school football coach Willis Wright, as well as current South Panola coach Lance Pogue.
Tickets are $55 and available at Pride Hyundai, Panola Partnership, The Panolian, First Security Bank and BancorpSouth. Tables and and half-tables are also available.
Social hour begins at 6 p.m. with dinner following immediately at 6:30 prior to the “roasting.”
