Panola County Homemaker Volunteers will present their annual Fashion Revue at 12:30 p.m., at the Extension Building on Highway 51 South, Batesville. The public is invited to participate in the fashion show this year. Entries will be divided into four categories: Clothing Construction; Children’s, Men’s and Women’s Clothing Selection. Panola Playhouse presents Steel Magnolias, directed by Harry Snelling of Batesville. The play will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Heflin House Museum in Sardis will be open for tours from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. A bake sale will also be held. This is in conjunction with the first annual Spring Fest, featuring antique cars on Main Street in Sardis. For more information call 487-1529 or 487-2682.
Panola County Humane Society will have an Adoption Day at Tractor Supply from 11a.m. - 2 p.m.
The Sardis Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its First Annual Spring Fest and Open Car Show with rain date on April 11. The Mississippi Delta Street Rodders are hosting the car show. The Tillatoba Volunteer Fire Department will have a fish fry at 4 p.m. All proceeds will go towards the building fund and purchase of new equipment for Tillatoba Volunteer Fire Department.

The Batesville Junior Woman’s League will host its annual Easter egg hunt at the Batesville Junior High School on Tiger Drive. Follow the signs. The hunt will begin at 10 a.m. promptly. Practice for the pageant will follow immediately.
A community cleanup day in Como is scheduled from first light until noon.
Garbage bags will be provided for volunteers who pick up trash in the streets. “We encourage people to clean up their yards,” said Scott Rhines, who is organizing the cleanup day. “Pickup will be provided on Saturday.” For additional information, contact Rhines at 526-5106.
City League baseball sign up for boys 13 to 15-years-old will be held at the American Legion Park from 10 a.m. to noon. Sign-up fee is $30. There will be a $20 late fee for anyone who signs up after April 11. For more information, call 934-0179.
A poker run will be sponsored in Oxford by Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity to benefit music in education. The event is for motorcyclists and bicyclists and begins with registration at 10:30 a.m. at Oxford Outdoors (motorcyclists) and the Gertrude Ford Center (for bicyclists). A blood drive will be sponsored by United Blood Services from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the media center at South Panola High School.
Friends of the Batesville Public Library will have their monthly meeting from noon until 1 p.m. Lee Rowsey will continue a discussion on Sardis Dam. Bring a sack lunch.

The South Panola Band Booster Club will meet at 6:30 in the South Panola High School band room. It is imperative that all parents who have students traveling with the band to Atlanta be in attendance.

Batesville Woman’s Club will meet at the public library at 2 p.m. The meeting will celebrate “Federation Day.”

Batesville Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting noon at the Batesville Public Library. Guest speaker will be Allison Ashmore. Ashmore is the Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc. Young Gardeners Chairman and is in charge of Lanoux Youth Nature Camp and she is also president of the Green Thumb Garden Club.

Kindergarten registration for Batesville Elementary and Pope School will be 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Any child that will be five years old on or before September 1, 2009, may register. Friends of the Batesville Public Library will hold their annual Spring Chocolate Fantasy from l-2:30 p.m. at the Batesville Public Library. Artwork of local students will be on display along with music by Calvin Flint and Casey Lipe. Tickets are now on sale for $4 each or 3 for $10. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time from a member or at the public library.

Panola County 4-H will sponsor “Kids In the Kitchen” from 3:30 to 5 p.m., to be led by Sally Hunt at the Extension Building on Hwy. 51 S. in Batesville.
