Buddy Holland’s earth moving crew hit the ground running Thursday when they began moving dirt at the connector road between House-Carlson and Pine Lodge Roads. Holland’s company was successful bidder on the project and Panola County and the City of Batesville have agreed to split the estimated $138,500 earth moving costs. County and city crews were also working on the project, either loosening the earth with a track hoe or locating a water line. The Panolian photo by Rupert Howell
