I am responding to the article where the road supervisor has plotted out the road work for each District. What happened to the completion of a re-surfacing project on Sardis Lake Drive that started 3, yes I said 3 years ago. I have talked to people with the Panola County Administration, State admin, even talked with Roger Wicker's office direct about what can be done to finish this project. Does anyone need help is finding out how to FINISH a project before you start another one???

On Saturday, December 12, 2009 we layed to rest a great man, James Barry Beavers "Beav". During his service there was no mention that his life was full, he was a father of 2, which he raised alone. Nothing was mentioned that he was a Certified Welder and Carpenter. Beaver was a true friend and brother. He had a heart bigger than most. He always had a smile on his face and always found something good in everyone that he met and would give them his shirt off of his back, if he thought they needed it. Granted, he had issues, he buried a daughter and never got over it, but tried to carry on and for all this my family will always look up to him. Beav will always live in our hearts and be on our minds, bacause there was something special about him. We love you and your spirit will carry on within us.

Have some of you forgotten that there are blinkers in your autos. They are there for a reason, I think some of you have forgotten. I challenge all drivers to use these blinkers and, I bet if you do, it will reduce traffic accidents in our area. If you do not believe that this is a problem, just watch the person iin front of you. Count the time, when turning, they will use their blinkers. REMEMBER: THINK AND BLINK

Right now I am really confused. My seventh grader, whom I must say I am very proud of,help manage the high school football team at South Panola.Well, tonite at the ring ceremony,he wasn't event acknowledged, not even with a THANK YOU.But that's not all how about two of the managers got rings, and yes I must say I thought this was a bit racist on the coaches part.I believe these children are our future, why in the sam hill would you give two managers something out of about 15. Wake up!! Children do have feelings too, whether you care or not. If because you are a coach you feel you can treat these children any kind of way,I got to tell you,one day you will be judged by a Higher Power!!P.S. If this is the way you all going to treat these boys I feel like the high school team don't need managers, let the coaches manage them,is that not what they are paid to do?

Can we get Ricky Harpole on Twitter? I was made privy to his article today and frankly, it made my day! Kudos, Mr. Harpole. Good luck in your campaign for Police Chief!

WHEN IS SOME ONE GOING TO STOP THIS PERSON IN THE ENID LAKE AREA HARASSING CHILDREN ON THEIR FOUR WHEELERS. THIS PERSON NEEDS TO GET A LIFE, STOP AN ADULT AND SEE WHAT KIND OF A REPLY HE WILL GET. WHO MADE THIS PERSON THE POLICE? PANOLA COUNTY HAS ONE OF THE BEST SHERIFF DEPTS AROUND, IF THIS PERSON PERSISTS CALL THE SHERIFF DEPT, I AM SURE THAT THEY HAVE A CELL AVAILABLE.

This is in response to the mother of the girl at SPHS who was sent home for having a short dress (the red dress incident). It seems that this woman (who wrote a letter to the editor regarding her daughter's dress) just wanted a reason to glorify her daughter. I am sure she embarrassed the fire out of the daughter, by the way. Whether or not her daughter is pretty, why would the mom LET her teenaged daughter wear a short red dress to high school in the first place?! The reason the school has so much trouble with the dress code again goes back to the parents. I would watch what my young daughter wore very carefully. Follow the dress code, lady, and you won't have to worry about your pretty daughter being sent home.

Dr. Shaffer, I am disappointed in the fact that you have decided to go with the flow on the prayer at football games. If I read the article correctly its not like they are saying that if we don't stop they are going to strip us of our titles or fine the district. Not to say that our coaches are not doing a wonderful job because I think they are, but in the past 5 years we have had wonderful seasons. Our players have not been seriously injured or thing of that nature. Maybe its because we did not follow the na-sayers and we kept prayer in lives. The lord has kept his hands on our teams, coaches and fans and we have been blessed. I am not saying that because of this we are going to start having issues I am just saying that We should keep prayer as part of our daily life.

I see by reading the paper that the police are very busy stopping crime and i would like to comend them on a endless job that they are doing.I however do have a question.I am a disabled senior citizen who has a disabled tag on my car and i feel that that the handycaped parking is meant for people like me. I have seen quite a few people abusing this.I sat in the parking lot of a shopping center and saw quite a lot of younger people that were clearly not disabled with a tag on there mirrow park in the handycaped parking while eldery people that needed the parking were forced to park and walk into the stores. Is there not a law again this? and why is it not being enforced? The eldery have earned the right now the young with a tag they got because they know someone disabled. As i said before i know the police are busy ,but someone needs to check some of these parking lots and ask for proof of disabilty sometimes. It wont take but a few minutes of watching a parking lot to catch one. This is not like killeing someone however it is a problem that should be addressed.

In response to 05/13/2010: Poor little seventh grader was all dissed and butt-hurt over a supposed slight and suddenly it is RAAYYYSSSIISSS? In my sixty one years I have learned that the world or the people in it do not owe me squat. I am absolutely professional and one of the very best in the field I have chosen. But guess what, work hard, do the absolute best you can, prove you are the best and you get; ready? Kicked in the face, shot to the curb by someone that knows practically nothing of your abilities or accomplishments because they have connections or other ties behind them. You think school is tough? Wait until the real world runs all over your little behind. The hard, cold fact of life is: get tough or get eaten.

It has come to my attention that there have been multiple break-ins and burglaries around the Mount Olivet area. There was even a break-in on that road with me living only TWO Roads away from it. The man living there no longer has any of his guns in his house (they were all Stolen). Someone REALLY needs to do something about this.
