michael, why not buy a paper.they can ship it to texas.i think are you are looking for something free

Submitted By: Anonymous Submitted: 2/11/2009
I was kind of under the impression that Michael might be having trouble trouble finding a place to purchase the paper in Texas.

Jim Bob why even have a web site if you are not going to update it. Some of us are always moving due to our jobs and this is the best way for us to keep up with whats going on in our home town.

Well Michael, I just want to tell you to choose your words wisely when you make a comment about the paper, because I once commented about a valid opinion that I had and the people at the Panolian got highly upset with me. They told me that there paper wasn't for the "outside reader". They posted my comment in an article in the paper, & then they lashed out at me in the newspaper as a public display of anger & rage towards me for my opinion. So be careful about voicing your opinion to the Panolian...

The person wasn't looking for something for free. This person was asking why hasn't the county paper reported this persons death, even if they brought the paper the information their looking for is sadly not in the paper. What the point of buying the paper if it available on the web, even though the site is mediocre at best. I still buy the paper,so you know. It also be nice if the paper provided an on-line blog about community stuff.

I understand what this Micheal Jackson is saying. I come here faithfully looking for news. I figure if I bought my internet service, then whatever I am looking for should be there. That is the reason why I have the internet. RESEARCH. Meaning whatever I am looking for should be there and updated. Why have it available if it ain't right. Let's be real. I mean, you don't want it to be so that nothing is ever updated on any site you go to, so why should this one be any different. So, I can understand Micheal, he is probably buying a paper where he lives, then he knows I can get an update on Batesville online, and go there and it ain't updated. I understand that. He did right to say his peace online about it. I understand.

I see the article about the resurfacing of the American Legion and Trussell Park. Does Patton Lane still have tennis courts? It used to be well kept in the 80's and early 90's. I know because I was one of the many to play on those courts from dusk till dawn. From those courts I hit my first tennis ball and eventually made it to the high school state tournament in tennis.

If you already know things why should they have to update it. If you know what's going on then inform them and they might update it. The newspaper is for nosey people anyway.

I was in Batesville Monday, 10-4-2010 and saw an accident on Hwy 6 East of Batesville but have not seen anything about it in the paper or on the news. Could you tell me what happened and if anyong was hurt?

This close to the election, I would love to see a sample ballot. I know who I want in the District 1 race, but I would like to have a listing of who else is running for what offices and a summary of their experience. Do we have to wait until we get to the polls to find out?

Editor's note: Check out Friday's printed edition or epaper of The Panolian for complete ballot listings.

I was sadden to see the demise of Franky G Wrenn. He and I was the first from our unit in Fort Riley, KS to be sent to Viet Nam in 1965. What was strange we both are from Batesville.

Some one needs to do something about batesville hospital. Their service their is horrible. I called 911 on Friday evening, Sept 9 2011, because of an earlier 4 wheeler accidient, in which I may have cracked or broken some ribs. I was transported to Tri-Lakes medical center about 8:30 p.m.. I was placed in a wheel chair and was put on the side of the hall. I was then put on a gurney with no shirt or gawn on (very bruised and bloody). There was one overworked nurse that was very bussy. The young aides tried taking my blood (very badly) constantly poking me, the nurse fianally came and took it. After sitting on the gurney for 2 1/2 hours the x-ray tech. shows up, but with no wheel chair. I had to walk to the x-ray lab in very bad pain. They wanted to do a cat scan on my head and kneck when that was not the problem. My chest was in so much pain i couldn't lay down, so i guess she x-raid it. I had to walk back to the gurney. The respiritory nurse comes and takes more blood, I think that I may have had a lung infection before the accidient. At 3:30 a.m. the head dr. brings a prescription of antibiotics and tells me to leave. I went to oxford hospital two days later (sunday Sept. 11 2011) and they put me in. I was very sick. They released me on friday, in which I was doing better.

all i kno we had less crime when Otis was in office dis is jus karma for cheating in the election... now officers have to do their job yall mad cuz the ppl in community want talk smh....

The sheriff isn't the problem. Bob Dole can't even spell, so how can he know anything about law enforcement. Darby is working hard to make needed adjustments and doing just as much as anyone else, including Otis. Times are tough right now and jobs are hard to find. The answer to the problem is more deputies on the road, but unfortunately there isn't enough money in the budget to allow that.
