Basketball is done in Panola County but it took a great performance from Cleveland Eastside to take the Cougars out. The Cougars lost 78-58 but it was a battle.
In the first quarter the Cougars missed free throws but kept the score close through the first half.
Towards the end of the second quarter the Trojans went on a 11-2 run to make the score at the half 44-36.
The second half was not the best half for the Cougars as they could not keep up with the scoring from the Trojans only scoring 13 points in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter the Cougars could not get any baskets falling behind and only scoring seven points in the quarter which was their lowest point total in a fourth quarter all season.
Leading the Cougars was Vennis Mills with 13 points. Other scorers were Jamarcus Jones with 12; Kenneth Jefferson with 11; Sylvonta Oliver with eight; Darrell Young and Jordan Dandridge with three points each and Mario Fenner Jr. with two points.
