Panola County Trump Campaign Co-Chairs Chuck Nix and Sean O’Neal were among county Republican officials honored recently for their role in electing President Donald Trump.
State Trump Campaign Committee Chairman Mitch Tyner and state Trump Campaign Director Dane Maxwell organized what started as a “Mississippi  Trump Thank You Tour” that Tyner soon renamed the “Trump Thank Y’all Tour.”
“How often do those that work so hard in a campaign get forgotten until it is time for the re-election?” Tyner said during remarks at the presentation in Grenada.
“Dane Maxwell (Trump State Director) and I decided when we began working on the Trump campaign in 2015 that win, lose or draw, we’d make a point of getting around and thanking those that were responsible for the successes in the campaign. That is what this tour is all about,” Tyner said.
“The real heroes in this election were the grassroots supporters that worked tirelessly to get Mr. Trump elected and he wanted to make sure they got the recognition they deserved,” Tyner continued.
Nix, contacted Thursday, expressed appreciation to Panola Trump Campaign Committee members Drs. Billy Haire and Mike Havens, who furnished a county headquarters and its utilities during the campaign. Nix said that the Panola headquarters quickly became a campaign materials distribution center for surrounding counties without county headquarters.
O’Neal serves as director of the Sardis Lake Christian Camp.
The Thank Y’all Tour’s Grenada stop on January 11 was one of nine over four days that concluded in Pascagoula where Maxwell is running for mayor.
