North Delta is headed to the playoffs.  With an ending only found in fiction books and Hollywood, the Green Wave get to accomplish their goals set at the beginning of the season.
On a night of emotion, with seniors being honored for all of their hard work and dedication, North Delta took the field knowing a win would secure a spot in the playoffs.  On a last second throw and prayer to the end zone from Will Kidder to Harris Cole, that spot was secured. Prayers were answered.
Brandon Ciaramitaro knew the weight of this game, and his team answered.
“Wow! What a great memory our team made Friday night! It was a senior night to remember.  Moments like that will last a lifetime in the minds of our football team.  I could not be more proud of our boys and their relentlessness.  I think they realized how much weight the game had on our season because you could see it in their play.  The win secures us a spot in the playoffs. Our team had a goal at the beginning of the season to make it past the first round of the playoffs.  The goal is achievable now.”
That is a great way to end the season, right? Nevertheless, North Delta heads to Somerville, Tenn. to play Fayette Academy Friday night for the last game of the season.
They look to end the season on a good note before heading into the playoffs.
“Fayette Academy will be a test Friday with multiple threats out of the double wing-flex bone formation and a blitz happy defense.  Come support the team in Somerville, Tenn.”
Kickoff is 7 p.m. tonight. The school is an hour and a half away.
