First grader Melanese Robertson is all smiles when she is given the opportunity to hold a real fire hose while touring the Batesville Fire Department Station 1 Wednesday. Students from Batesville Elementary School heard instructions on fire safety and saw demonstrations by firemen. This month firefighters will visit schools throughout the county. October is Fire Prevention Month.
