Arkabutla takes applications for special deer hunt in Dec.

Vicksburg – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Arkabutla Lake will host its annual Physically Challenged Deer Hunt on December 12-15. There will be two hunts, December 12-13 and December 14-15.  

The hunts are limited to applicants who are quadriplegic, paraplegic or ambulatory with the use of leg braces or crutches.  

Applications are now available at the Arkabutla Lake Field Office.  The deadline for receiving applications is 3 p.m., August 29.  

A public drawing will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 10 a.m. at Pavilion #734 in the South Abutment Day Use Area.
